Thatcher 4

a beautiful .56 acre piece of property on bucolic fort pond in montauk is available for you to build your dream home (or what was ours). shown here is a house bryan and i designed in collaboration with architect fred stelle. it won an AIA award for excellence in architecture. it incorporates all the latest green and sustainable design principles.

at 1800 square feet this beautiful glass and steel structure has 180 degree water views and roof deck views of the ocean and fort pond bay. all permits are in place and its ready to go. we are selling the property because we bought a small cottage across from this property, gut renovated and are building a pool house and pool.

montauk is a low key surf community that is ultra hip, beautiful and magical—only 3 hours from manhattan via, train, plane (20 min) or automobile

jonas brothers

Jonas1i took kassandra, julie, gilda and ella (in that order above) to see the jonas brothers saturday night at mohigan sun in ct. we were escorted vip style by matt directly to nick, joe and kevin where photos and autographs were had— the girls were in awe—it was so much fun. then matt took them back stage. the show was great the kids sang and danced the entire 90 minutes. after, we met some friends and ordered johnny rocket to go because the line was insane. if you have never been to mohigan sun it’s quite an experience, i may just never go again. later we drove to dodgy new london and stayed at the holiday inn so we could wake up early and take the ferry to orient point>shelter island>sag harbor>montauk. it was all about the kids saturday night so there was no what am i wearing today!

BRT_7902-L-K-fj40This is what I tool around Montauk in. Super cool and matte black. It’s a 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser, bought on ebay. The guy was a motor head from Kings Point.  Had to put a new muffler on it because you could here me a mile a way. I’m sure the town of Montauk would have eventually given me a ticket. Anyway, its nice to drive a stick again. Now we just have to figure out the music situation.

With 2000 surfers descending on Montauk last weekend what could one do but join them. I hopped into my 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser (which by the way is a head turner) and headed to the beach. I can’t surf 10 foot waves but I can surf 4 ft waves and found them on the North side of the island at Gosmans—a line up already in progress

BRT_8861This lovely photo opp is courtesy of my husband Bryan Thatcher as I am walking to End of the Road in Montauk to take photos of the epic Surf. I happen to be wearing my favorite new clogs by Toffel (nailed in Sweden) and my new key cuff. Anyway this photo made the top photo of the day on flickr—Go figure!~
