jonas brothers

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Jonas1i took kassandra, julie, gilda and ella (in that order above) to see the jonas brothers saturday night at mohigan sun in ct. we were escorted vip style by matt directly to nick, joe and kevin where photos and autographs were had— the girls were in awe—it was so much fun. then matt took them back stage. the show was great the kids sang and danced the entire 90 minutes. after, we met some friends and ordered johnny rocket to go because the line was insane. if you have never been to mohigan sun it’s quite an experience, i may just never go again. later we drove to dodgy new london and stayed at the holiday inn so we could wake up early and take the ferry to orient point>shelter island>sag harbor>montauk. it was all about the kids saturday night so there was no what am i wearing today!

St. Cecilia Convent

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

On Saturday my friend Kim Cullen (the producing director of Streb) and I went to see RoomTones a collaborative exhibition of 25 artists in the vacant Convent of St. Cecilia in GreenPoint Brooklyn. There were a few brilliant pieces but I fell in love with the beautiful shadows of objects that were taken by the nuns—here are some photos taken with my iphone.

DSC_0706shot with Cynthia Mayeda for the Danspace Project benefit Gala in May @ St. Marks Church. This awesome event raises money every year to stimulate, promote and present challenging new work in dance from a broad range of artistic voices within our community. They support and encourage.  choreographers to take risks and bring their creative visions to light. I am happy to support them each year. Elizabeth is wearing a Laura Michaels sterling silver vintage key necklace

I think Elizabeth Streb and Robert Longo could be brother and sister—don’t you?

marshmallowThese beautiful flowers popped while I was in the city. How lovely was it for me to pull in and be greeted by these giants. I thought the storm today would knock them all over but I only lost a few blooms. Just got back from shooting photos at Trailer Park and Ditch, lots of double overheads—will post those pictures soon. Just a beautiful stormy day.

BRT_7902-L-K-fj40This is what I tool around Montauk in. Super cool and matte black. It’s a 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser, bought on ebay. The guy was a motor head from Kings Point.  Had to put a new muffler on it because you could here me a mile a way. I’m sure the town of Montauk would have eventually given me a ticket. Anyway, its nice to drive a stick again. Now we just have to figure out the music situation.
